
Who were right? Who did the right thing? If you ask these questions after seeing a movie I say that you have seen a good movie. And “The shape of things” is one of those movies.
There is one statement in this movie that say it all: “Strive to make art but change the world” and behind this statement lies a movie full of complexity of human relations actually we see one of those LaBute`s movies which men and women are intrinsically enemy rather than complementary.
LaBute has been compared to David Memet and I think it is a good comparison because both of them have a distinctive view about the complexity and elaboration of human relations. I like this movie not only because of its surprise ending but also because the kind of LaBute`s view through the life.
